Celebrating 10 years of reducing the demand for rhino horn

Apr 19, 2024 | WFA News

In 2014, at the height of the rhino poaching crisis in South Africa, Wilderness Foundation Africa initiated a campaign in Vietnam with the aim of reducing the demand for rhino horn. Ten years later and with rhino poaching numbers significantly lower than they were in 2014, the Foundation is proud of the work completed to date.

Since the start of the campaign in 2014, more than 28 million Vietnamese people have been reached through the social media campaign; more than 700 000 Vietnamese people have been reached through direct interactions and 3.7 million people through in-direct interactions.

The campaign continues to focus its activities in schools and universities in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, and through focused business related activities. Through dedicated partnerships and a passionate funder, this vital work has been made possible. Thank you Olsen Animal Trust.
