On the 3rd July 2024 WFA’s Youth Development Programme graduated 41 Siyazenzela Basic Employability, Wellness & Leadership training course beneficiaries at a formal ceremony held at the Malelane Golf Course in Mpumalanga.  The majority of the graduates hailed from Ntunda Village in Nkomazi and attended either of the 15-day Siyazenzela courses implemented during May and June 2024.

In addition to the traditional wellness topics covered during the training, the beneficiaries also had an opportunity to explore the wildlife and wilderness areas of the Kruger National Park through a game drive experience, organised by the programme funders (The Caleo Foundation / Mitomeni River Lodge / Jock Safari Lodge).

YDP is proud to report that 32 graduates have already been placed in various pathways toward financial contribution. 24 of the Graduates will be completing a one-month Workplace Experience Programme at the Malelane SuperSpar, while an additional four graduates will be assisting First Climb Academy with administrative and general assistant duties for a period of  two weeks each.

The course funder, Jock Safari Lodge, also demonstrated their commitment to empowering South Africa’s youth by onboarding four graduates in internship positions at the Lodge situated in the Kruger National Park.

The new graduates form part of more than 100 beneficiaries the Youth Development Programme has already graduated from the Siyazenzela programme this year.
